Yahoo! Releases New Search Engine Tool in Beta: Yahoo! Mindset
I read on Slashdot today that Yahoo! Research Labs has a new search engine available. Yahoo! Mindset is still in Beta version, but it's very interesting. The Mindset search tool lets you filter the results with a slider switch. As you move the selection to one end of the slider bar, Yahoo! will show shopping sites related to your search. At the other end, Yahoo! will show informational sites related to your keywords. When the slider switch is somewhere in between, you will get a relative mix of informational and shopping sites for your keywords, with the mix dependent on where the slider is. Perhaps even more interesting than the tool (and the thought of how it could affect your website's search engine rankings!) are the comments to this posting on Slashdot.
