Yahoo Search Marketing (Overture) Ads System Crashes
Been having problems with your Overture / Yahoo! Search Marketing campaigns, or using the Keyword Selector Tool there? Yahoo upgraded their Yahoo Search Marketing ad system (formerly Overture) the weekend of August 20-21, 2005, apparently breaking their ad service. First it slowed to a crawl and then apparently crashed by Monday, August 22nd. Internet marketers could not make changes to their ad campaigns or access their accounts. In some cases, their ads stopped running. Even Yahoo support representatives couldn't access their client's Yahoo Search Marketing ad system accounts! As of Wednesday, August 24, 2005, Yahoo was still having problems, didn't know when the problems would be fixed, and apparently didn't know what was causing it other than that the upgrade apparently broke it. I would probably be more sympathetic with Yahoo's engineers if I was not also experiencing problems because of Yahoo! As of today I am not yet sure if they are fully functioning again or not, but the Keyword Selector Tool seems to be working.
