Google Beta Tests Syndicating Local Search and Maps
eWeek.com reports that Google recently ran a beta test of syndicating their local search results and online maps to other sites. On Wednesday, April 20, 2005, AccuWeather went live with a beta test of Google's syndicated local results. Visitors to AccuWeather's site can search for local businesses, view the business locations on a map, and get driving directions, all from the AccuWeather site. Google hopes to offer the new syndicated services to other partners. The program will allow webmasters to syndicate the new Google Web Services on their sites, and will also increase the reach of Google's AdWords program.
