Google Combines Google Local Search and Google Maps

Marketing VOX News reports that Google has now taken Google Local search out of beta in the USA and Canada and has also combined Google Local search and Google Maps.

The new combined service is available at either http://maps.google.com or http://local.google.com.  It blends addresses, phone numbers, maps, driving directions and other information, such as user reviews and credit card information, as well as satellite mapping, which provides aerial views.

More and more visitors are using the Web instead of the Yellow Pages to find local businesses.  According to Marketing VOX News, "The Kelsey Group expects the trend to generate $3.4 billion in local advertising sales by 2009."
