Google RSS News Feeds and Atom News Feeds for Google News

Google just introduced RSS news feeds and Atom news feeds for Google News.  You can get an RSS news feed or Atom news feed for any Google News section, custom Google news search, or customized Google news page.

To get a Google RSS news feed or Atom news feed:

  • In any Google News section, you will see the link for the RSS or Atom feed under the navigation bar.
  • Do any search on Google News and there will then be links for the Atom news feed  or RSS news feed of your search results page on the left-hand side of the Google results page.
  • Create a customized news page, and there will then be links on the left to the custom RSS news feed or Atom news feed of the customized news page (only available currently for English news sections).

RSS and Atom news feeds are normally browsed through news readers.  They can also be displayed on your web pages if you have a software script to display news feeds [Note:  a really excellent and highly recommended tool for displaying news feeds on your web site is:  RSS Equalizer].

When displaying other web sites' news feeds on your web site, you always have to be careful about terms of use, especially if yours is a commercial site.  The terms of use for Google's new RSS and Atom news feeds invite you to make noncommercial use of Google's RSS and Atom feeds on your website subject to Google's Terms of Service, and their Google News Terms of Service.
